Who We Are
+ Urban Planning
Over the years, Gunn Meyerhoff Shay has designed numerous buildings that serve Downtown Savannah’s hospitality industry including, but not limited to, River Street, The Inn at Ellis Square, Historic District Hampton Inn, 412 Williamson for Rockbridge Hotels, City Market, Hilton Garden Inn, River Street Place, Mulberry Inn, and The Homewood Suites on River Street that recently opened.
Gunn Meyerhoff Shay Architects has earned its outstanding reputation for design excellence and client satisfaction over the last 50 years by working very hard to fully understand the environment of the project, including its geography, history, ecology, sociology and economics. By balancing the client’s expectations and resources with the environmental context, we know the exact boundaries for our creativity.
Excellent results are consistently delivered because we remain devoted to the design integration of appropriate and economical technologies. We utilize the best engineers and sub-consultants for each project’s unique challenges, and hold them to our same culture of excellence.
We have consistently produced projects which fulfill the meaning of sustainability, whether in our most recent LEED Platinum Certified project for Georgia Power, or in the sensitive restoration and adaptive rehabilitation of historic landmarks. We expect our completed buildings to last 50 to 100 years, so we take a long view of how they must perform now and evolve over time.
